In Sony’s Own Words
Who I am Now!
My name is Lonh Sony. And I’m a student of first year at Institute Technology of Cambodia. My major is Food Science.
Better Than Yesterday
I have been living at Leadership Academy for more than 2 years. I can use the English language for my communication. I am more confident and independent now. I have done some presentation and sharing with young students and my peers at LA. Besides, I have improved my teamwork, especially from the community services. LA students and I have done many great things for younger generations. Last month, we learnt to sew face masks. Then, we went out to Prasat Primary School, one of the schools in my community, to teach them how to sew masks so that they can go to school safely.
Why Food Science?
I’m so excited as I am about to start my new classes in Food Science. To my pride, I passed the entrance exam at Institute of Technology of Cambodia, one of the public universities specialized in Engineering. I’m not quite sure why I chose Food Science. I just know that whenever I hear and see my parents and other farmers leave their produce rotten after their harvest, I feel very pity on them, so I think I have to do something. I will turn those produces they cannot be sold into final-end products.
Big Dream for the Community
I wish to manufacture food products from the produces that farmers cannot find the market for them. Then, those farmers will earn enough income and improve their living. Most Importantly, they can afford to send their children to schools. Last but not least, I want to see more Khmer products on the market.
